SEATTLE — December 16, 2015 — Indix, the cloud-based Product Intelligence company that provides product information for innovative businesses building new commerce models, today announced that SnipSnap has selected Indix to power its competitive price match feature ‘Scout’ within its SnipSnap app. Through its Product API, Indix provides SnipSnap with access to product pricing and store information on more than 800 million products, enabling Scout users to save money with every purchase.
In the market today, the price matching process is clunky with individual retailers adhering to their own policies, making it difficult for shoppers to track which rules apply to each retailer. The Indix Product API helps SnipSnap simplify the price matching process. Users of SnipSnap’s Scout feature can now match specific products with the preferred retailers that both sell the product and will match the price of their competitors. For instance, Scout allows users to submit photos of products in a chat-like interface, which then pulls in product data from the Indix Product API to suggest retailers that will price match based on a user’s shopping preferences.
“Delivering real-time price matching and product information to all of our users is an essential component of the complete shopping experience,” said Ted Mann, founder and CEO, SnipSnap. “Using Indix, we’re able to provide Scout users with the most precise and up-to-date information they need in order to make informed purchasing decisions, while also getting the very best deals from their favorite retailers.”
The Indix product information marketplace contains thousands of attributes on more than 800 million products worldwide. Built with machine learning algorithms that structure the enormous volumes of product data available online, the Indix Product API has the power to match buyers and sellers based on exactly the product they need or sell.
“Giving consumers the information they need to make the best, most informed purchasing decisions is a daunting task when that information is inconsistent and exists in silos across thousands of merchants worldwide,” said Sanjay Parthasarathy, CEO, Indix. “Our Product API simplifies access to that product information to help innovative companies like SnipSnap create and power the new commerce models of tomorrow.”
SnipSnap is the first mobile coupon app to allow users to scan and redeem any printed coupon on their smartphone. Since launching at TechCrunch Disrupt in 2012, the app has grown to 4 million users on iOS and Android, who have saved more than 100 million coupons and $200 million. 50+ retailers have partnered with SnipSnap to deliver targeted coupons via the app or utilizing SnipSnap’s Coupon Author platform. The company was created at DreamIt Ventures accelerator program, participated in the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Project Liberty Incubator, and is based in Philadelphia. SnipSnap is a wholly owned subsidiary of visual search leader Slyce Inc. www.SnipSnap.it
