Black Friday, one of the most popular shopping days in the US is upon us. Many stores already started their Black Friday sales on Thursday eve because Thursday is the new Friday!
Below are 3 quick tips to consider if you are shopping on Black Friday:
1. Bookmark www.blackfriday.com
Bookmark www.blackfriday.com to quickly view the status of sales at online retailers and physical stores. Click on the “Deals” tab and discover hot deals such as a 16GB Apple iPad Mini with Wi-Fi for $299 or a Funai 32” 720p LED HDTV for $98 at Walmart.
Also, install mobile apps from online retailers and keep an eye out on their social media channels for special promotions.
2. In store prices may beat online prices in some cases
Keep in mind that many stores have already announced that they will compete with and match prices with Amazon and other online stores. Therefore, “showrooming” (i.e. looking for products in physical stores first and then ordering them online) may not result in the best deals for you.
3. Beware of scammers! Don’t purchase from untrusted sites or spammy looking email offers
If you are purchasing anything online, remember that the Internet is rampant with fraudulent sites. Don’t purchase a Black Friday deal from a site that you don’t trust. Also, don’t click on spammy looking emails. As always, beware of malware!
And last but not least, if you are going for in store shopping, don’t get yourself killed in the stampede.
