New Hire Spotlight: Mayank Singh, Program Manager

Through our New Hire Spotlight blog series, we want to share insights from our hiring process and shed light on the rockstars that strengthen our team.

Meet Mayank Singh. He’s a passionate athlete and our in-house ping pong champion. He joined us as a Program Manager after working in the Consulting Division at Deloitte. Read more about his interview experience below.


How long have you been working at Indix?
I’ve been at Indix for about 9 months now.

What first attracted you to want to interview with Indix?
The goal that Indix is trying to achieve (building a Product Information Marketplace) was very attractive. But even more than that, I found the team of the founder and co-founders exceptional and rock-solid. I believed that with this team, we could achieve a lot.

What about the interview process helped convince you that Indix is the place for you?
The interview process was very smooth thanks to the Humans Resources team. They helped me at every stage and there was never a confusion about what was going to happen next. All the interviews were on time and the conduct was totally professional which made me even more convinced that Indix was a great place to come to.

If there was one word to describe how you felt when you got your offer, what was it? Why did you choose that word?
I was really happy because I never thought I could make it through! When I was in Chennai for the final round, I thought my interviews weren’t that great and I would go back home with a good experience. I was anticipating a rejection and that’s why the offer made me super happy and ecstatic.

If you had to describe the whole process in one or two words, what would it be?

If you could give advice to future candidates on how to best prepare for and handle interviews at Indix, what would you tell them?
Read more about what Indix is trying to do and how it is trying to achieve that. Read the engineering blog posts, as they are beneficial. And if possible, talk to people in the company as they can provide better answers to the questions you might have.

What did you learn about the team and culture at Indix during your interview process?
They have an amazing open culture and that was reflected in the interview process. There were no hidden agendas and it was made clear to me what I was getting into. All the interviewers were successful and accomplished folks and the fact that they made me comfortable in the whole interview process made me realize that the team here is fantastic and I could learn a lot from each of them.
