What is your role at Indix?
I’m a software engineer with a focus on tools that help to automate and scale the Indix platform. The tools connect different components of the platform. My roles vary from UX design to app development to a little bit of product and program management. I specialize in front end technologies.
What did you do before Indix?
I was with a startup named CloudPact. I helped them bootstrap a mobile application platform to build cross-platform mobile apps. Prior to that, I was with Cordys (now OpenText).
Why did you join Indix?
I love building products from scratch. It’s exciting to enter an unknown territory and expand into it. The vision and the culture brought me to Indix and it’s been quite a learning here, so far.
What have you learned working for a startup?
Startups have the flexibility to make mistakes quick and often, with the ability to move forward from the mistakes, always keeping the larger vision in mind. Also, time and money are very crucial factors in a startup.
What technologies or trends get you most excited?
The technology behind the Indian railways. Given the huge breadth of challenges it covers, it’s interesting to understand the technology of how it came up.
What do you do for fun?
Go for a long drive, totally unplanned. Friends fill my spare time and it’s fun hanging out with them.
What is your favorite technology product?
Google, for solving some hard problems. Of recent, it’s Slack, for changing the way we communicate.
How would your friends describe you?
Calm and always smiling.
