Employee Spotlight – Sampath Jagannathan, Product Manager

A company that is building disruptive products needs motivated and energetic product managers. Meet one of our extraordinary product managers, Sampath Jagannathan. He is a calming force, hard-working, and extremely passionate about building high-quality products. We sat down with Sampath to learn more about him.


What is your role at Indix?

I manage two products – the Indix Product Intelligence App and the Indix API. My job is to ensure we build the right set of features into our products by understanding customer needs. I also work with the sales and marketing teams to communicate the value of our products to our customers and prospects.

What did you do before Indix?

I consulted for Walmart’s ecommerce business for about three and a half years in Bentonville, AR. As a part of their Service Oriented Architecture roadmap, I defined the reusable services for common business functions such as inventory management, payment, coupon management, etc.

Why did you join Indix?

I moved back to Chennai (India) after having spent six years in the US. I was looking for opportunities in the startup space as I aspire to start my own venture someday. I found Indix to be a great fit.

What have you learned working for a startup?

Greater responsibility, newer challenges and exposure to areas such as talent management, fund raising, building the company’s culture, brand building, etc.

What technologies or trends get you most excited?

Location based services – those that help me discover interesting things then and there.

What do you do for fun?

Family, friends, beer, music, travel.

What is your favorite technology product?

GPS, as it solves my biggest problem – directions.

How would your friends describe you?
