Employee Spotlight: Nitish Alluri, Software Engineer

Meet Nitish Alluri, a rockstar software engineer. He has a passion for learning new skills, having new experiences, and meeting new people. These qualities among others, make him a great fit for the culture and environment at Indix. We sat down with Nitish to learn more about him.


What is your role at Indix?
I am a software engineer at Indix. Currently, I am working on the new release of our Product Information Marketplace. We’re aspiring to build a marketplace for product data and algorithms. Before that, I worked on revamping our product matching algorithms.

What did you do before Indix?
I joined a company called Nagarro as a fresh college graduate. I’ve had good exposure to standard industry practices there, and learned to work as part of a team.

Why did you join Indix?
Indix has a very bold vision. The sheer scale and depth of the problem they were solving here overwhelmed me. It made me believe that there is a lot to do and learn at the company.

What have you learned working for a startup?
Working at a startup has given me a good perspective on how a company works, and how it has to evolve to catch up with the market. Even on a personal level, it has helped me adapt to the changing requirements and made me more independent.

What technologies or trends get you most excited?
Being able to watch in 3D without glasses. I believe, along with augmented reality, it is going to bring lots of changes to our day-to-day lives.

What do you do for fun?
I dabble in different things depending on my mood. I like reading, or going through some cool course on Coursera, or Netflix and chill with a pizza. I also enjoy trying a new song on my guitar, play Clash Royale, dabble on Quora, YouTube, or go play some badminton.

What is your favorite technology product?

How would your friends describe you?
That I get bored very easily and I’m always up for any new plans.
