Matild Reema loves solving problems. Her drive for becoming a programmer came from her passion for doing puzzles. More challenging the problem, the better it is. We love this kind of spirited attitude in our engineers here at Indix. She enjoys reading and hopes to write a book some day. We sat down with Reema to learn more about her.
What is your role at Indix?
I kickstarted my time here by working in the site ingestion team for a couple of months before moving onto feeds processing. I also overlook some of the data egression requirements for our customers.
What did you do before Indix?
I joined Indix fresh out of college. This is my very first job 🙂
Why did you join Indix?
I was pretty excited to work in a startup. When I first heard about Indix, I did a little bit of digging around and figured that it would be a great place to work in. What really pulled me over was that I believed I could learn a lot here.
What have you learned working for a startup?
Being responsible. That you are your own master. With no hard-set rigid rules, you take it upon yourself to bring in that element of responsibility to the work that you do. And the best part of it all, I’ve learnt to be more optimistic realizing that every problem always has a solution, no matter how hard it seems at first. There’s really no end to how much you can learn from your peers.
What technologies or trends get you most excited?
Back in college, my friend and I had developed an application for the visually impaired and that experience was simply beautiful. With all the amazing things happening in the tech world, I have a special interest in technology that helps the disabled.
What do you do for fun?
I love to read. Reading is like an escape from reality. There’s a whole new world to discover between the pages of a book. Apart from that, I enjoy listening to a good amount of music and watching sitcoms.
What is your favorite technology product?
It’s got to be my smartphone. I can write my diary, get a news feed, play some cool games, read e-books, do a little bit of karaoke, and listen to songs. It’s an all-in-one device for me.
How would your friends describe you?
A quiet girl who takes time to gel with people. Child-like in some situations, overtly mature in others, and an absolute crackpot sometimes. 😛
